This is a beautiful, touching story and I don't want to take away from that, but couldn't help but notice something. What does it say about our education system that here she is with a doctorate, one of the highest honors, yet hasn't been taught proper grammar. It's nothing personal against her. She is a hard working, lovely human being. This is to point out one of the many gaping flaws in our education system. Daily, I hear college students make the same grammatical errors: "For her, raising my brother and I..." It should be: "For her, raising my brother and me..."
