  4. While some might find it sad to see others walk away from their faith, some of us find it to be a very positive experience. A 4-year journey of digging very deeply into the Bible, including its history, lead me right out of Christianity. It's a long story, but to summarize, I started on the journey with a sincere desire to learn more about God. I went in with a clean slate and used critical thinking skills to not only gather new information, but also to review past knowledge and challenge my beliefs. It was like pulling the curtain back on Oz. Now, there's no going back because I discovered it was all man-made, just like all religions are.
