  4. I couldn't agree more. I've never understood the idea of hazing either. It's dangerous. This young man is responsible for himself and his actions. He could have decided not to drink, but is now suffering such extreme consequences. Very sad.

People are so quick to point the finger everywhere else, while this guy had a choice. Of course it's sad. The decisions he made that night will affect him for the rest of his life. Absolutely tragic. 💔

  7.  @lynnvh5445  Exactly. Personal responsibility seems to be old fashioned. Now it's common to point the blame anywhere but at yourself. Of course I feel for the guy and wouldn't wish that on anyone. But I find it very concerning for people to be pointing the finger at the school and the other frat boys as if he played no part in it himself.

  8. What about personal responsibility? No doubt the brothers should have called 911 sooner, but this young man was not forced to do anything. He willingly drank all of that alcohol. I think it's time to quit blaming others.

  12.  @triggermetimbers7186  That's interesting because I haven't seen one single cruel comment, but I haven't read any since yesterday. Almost every comment I saw was about going after the frat boys and the school BIG TIME. There are some extremely harsh comments about charging the guys with homicide and suing the school.

  13. @Endless Nameless   I'm not sure why people keep mentioning "victim blaming". If anyone is getting the blame, it's the frat brothers and the school who did not force anything on anyone. I'm simply pointing out personal responsibility, which seems to be lacking in the comment section. I realize people make dumb decisions sometimes, but with that comes consequences, however harsh they might be. I find it very odd that some people mix up "personal responsibility" with "blaming a victim". I'm not sure why Danny is seen as a victim. He made an unfortunate decision which sadly resulted in very harsh consequences. It would be like someone choosing to jump off a cliff into the water which resulted in a broken neck. On another note, what kind of music do/did you play? I have a lot of family members who are musicians and love being surrounded by music. Again, you got lucky. Some people aren't so lucky. It's a relief to know that no one died. Your life may have turned out very differently, even if you were sober.

  15. Best advice for parents. I'm dumbfounded to see all the comments blaming the frat boys and the school. Where's the personal responsibility? It's really unfortunate that he went along with it. Now he's suffering severe consequences. 💔

  17.  @user-hx7mi7ml8u  "The college" didn't "use alcohol to urge kids to do bad stuff", nor did they"buy alcohol for underaged kids". Some of the fraternity brothers allegedly told him to drink alcohol as part of a pledge hazing, but he had a say in that. He was not forced to do anything. If he had been, that would be a different story. Personally, I think it's a horrible idea to encourage anyone, let alone underaged kids, to drink alcohol like that. BUT, the point is, he is responsible for his own actions. I also think it's horrible to watch someone get blinding drunk and not get them help. It's probably fair to say that they were all drinking and possibly drunk. I can't imagine offering kids alcohol as an adult. I think the story you shared is a very different situation. She provided alcohol to minors on her own property. I don't know how old these frat boys are, but they might be underaged themselves. I guess we'll find out. Whatever the case, I've never witnessed anything like that and would be horrified to see what happens at some of these college parties. 😳

  20. This is absolutely heartbreaking, but everyone is responsible for their own actions. He was not forced to do anything. He could have not drank the alcohol or could have walked away. It's really sad, but blaming others is not really fair. However, those who were not watching his health condition should face consequences for that.

It sounds like you were the most responsible one in the band, even though you chose to ride with them. Scary! There most have been some reason you didn't offer to drive or that your offer wasn't accepted??
