I didn't know that Jan Levinson had become a medical examiner. She moved up from Dunder Mifflin.

@user-vc5qr1vt4m In all fairness, believing in gods is very similar to believing in Santa as an adult. I wouldn't have thought that when I was a believer, but I definitely see it now. Once the curtain is pulled back on Oz, there's no going back. It's interesting how people are coming against the atheist very sarcastically and harshly, going as far to telling him what he can and can't say. If God was so obvious, clearly we would all be convinced.

How absolutely devastating. My heart breaks for Jesse and all who loved him. He seemed so passionate, and had his whole life ahead of him. 💔

There's a protocol. If the owner doesn't give up the dogs, then they'll have to go through the steps to lawfully seize the dogs. That prevents mistakes from happening.

@lonnarheaj I was a believer for over 40 years and finally realized that gods don't exist. I don't remember ever seeing anything in the bible that mentions free will or not protecting babies. Maybe you could mention the source for your claim. I'm not asking for a long, personal answer, but just bible verses. If you were in charge of the world, would you protect babies from getting raped, kidnapped and murdered? Sincere question.

@JaytheblueJ If this isn't the time, then when is it? Making fantasy claims doesn't seem to be helping society.

@lindseyloo5155 🤣

Do you really think that they thought they were good boys? They were trying to calm the dogs down.

@user-vc5qr1vt4m Why do you consider another perspective as "negative", especially considering the perspective not based on reality? Atheists are just as grateful this baby was saved. We just don't feel the need to thank someone other than those who actually saved him. How is that negative?

@a.b.creator "It does kill the kid in a way. It ruins any chance of a normal life..." I'm curious if you feel the same way about the perpetrator in this case, considering he likely experienced the same or similar abuse growing up. Hopefully I don't need to explain that I am not condoning the horrific abuse by the stepfather. I'm simply pointing out that his behavior is not normal under any circumstances and is nearly never displayed by anyone who grew up in an average home. The OP shared his opinion and yours is different. There isn't necessarily a "right and wrong" here, except that we can all agree that what happened to the boy was horrific and beyond heartbreaking.

@BlueberryGirl723 In all sincerity, how do you know God sent them? And if he did send them, then why not send help when babies are getting raped or murdered?

Good thing she did the right thing.

I didn't hear him speak. Did I miss it somehow?? I couldn't hear one word the attorney said, so I'm not sure if she read his statement or something.

@aliway4136 I think they were referring to the fact that the other man got the baby out of the water.

Wow. I didn't know that. It sure does seem like common sense.

So very sad. They've definitely been through a lot.

This is so refreshing to hear!!! 👏👏👏

@annainspain5176 Do you feel the same way about the stepfather, considering he endured similar abuse? Sadly, abuse is often a cycle in families. Sometimes people can't see the child within the adult and instead can only see the child when they're young. You just described what this man has been living with himself. Child abuse has long term consequences and can greatly affect a growing brain. What some of us see as "wrong" can be seen as "normal" by those in an abusive home.

This is the real world, both good and bad. Life is so unfair.
1
Huh? What did God do?
1
@Jim Burley How are you sure of that? If he was able to do that, surely he could have prevented them from the trauma of being kidnapped for a year. What about the children who are found murdered?

That poor baby. 😢

How absolutely terrifying. 😳

@nataliehidalgo8933 Common sense. 👍

Just to clarify, the gentleman pulled the baby out of the water, the female officer started CPR, and the rescue officer completed it. It was a group effort and the baby survived. I haven't seen any information as to how the baby ended up in the water or why the "adults" nearby did not go in after the baby. This video was just highlighting the female officer since she jumped into the water despite not knowing how to swim. Thankfully the officer was okay because that's a lot of extra weight to be carrying and she was VERY out of breath. No doubt she was willing that child to live. I can't even imagine the emotions in that moment.

@stephanieRae444 She had to get her mind off of him somehow. Lol

No doubt!

@debbiemachelle2703 I'm confused. Maybe you missed the part where they explained that the neighbors did not report the dogs. How were they supposed to act if they didn't know??
