Was essentially the police who in a sense were in on it Rebecka Brooks was the editor of The News of the world, I believe she may have had an affair with Andy Coulsons (who was a 'media spin doctor' essentially Camerons equivalent of Alaister Campbell was for Blair) who served a prison sentence for the scandal. Was partially over the hacking of the murdered school girl Milly Dowlers phone messages. They'd found messages on her voice messages had been getting deleted, which gave them the false sense like she was still alive, when she wasn't (though they had been hacked into) found to be alive and after some kind of looking into the voice messages, they'd found they had a certain number of days before they got deleted. For other victims they'd even sometimes thought of suicide, because they'd believed their own close family and friends were giving information to the press when they weren't, he's pure filth is Murdoch (he says he did nothing wrong and in the Leveson inquiry, not that anyone who really knows about his history believes any of that nonsense and is the same who's at the top of the hierarchy of Fox).

The complaints process and the rest of it after the Leveson inquiry is a joke, the head of which (or was at least) the former editor of the Daily Mail (one of Murdoch's papers), you couldn't make it up!

@alexi.3414 Germany at the time was put into absolute poverty for what they did during WW1 and Hitler hit the right buttons with loads of people, though I believe it wasn't an overnight thing it took a fair number of years to brew as such.
