  34. Rather Musk most certainly did not found Paypal he founded actually an online bank (with at least two other people might I add) named X. It soon after quite essentially got bought by a company named Confinity at the time (a far larger company), it soon (or however longer later) changed its name to Paypal as they wanted the name to reflect more of a focus on user to user payments. He also got kicked off the board twice for least two reasons.

  42.  @mosquitobight  They may as well say he founded Paypal, he didn't he started up a far smaller payment processor I believe named X which was bought by Paypal, he asked then to be the founder of Paypal (was two employees from Paypal who founded Youtube lol, which was soon after bought by Google). Paypal goes back to it being founded by three people (called something entirely different at the time) in 1998 and non of those three people included Musk lol.

The reality is with X for certain wouldn't in reality have happened the way it did had it not been for Richie (who developed the C programming language and is probably the most widely used language in computing as a whole) and probably had it not been for Berners Lee lol (its just ironic that Sir Tim (as he was knighted in around the year 2002, created the first web server and web browser did it on a NeXT computer which was the company run by Jobs and believe was Steve Woz who developed NeXTSTEP the OS that ran on it when Berners Lee was at CERN lol).

Besides Musk most certainly did not found PayPal, he founded the company called X that was originally an online bank, it was later bought essentially by Confinity as it was called at the time, was later renamed PayPal when they decided to go for (or least change their focus) to user to user payments.
