Probably, I myself have made similar spelling mistakes in the past so I can't criticise lol, I always thought it was Scottish (and I thought I was up on the history of the country since my ancestors came from there) you learn something new every day, like the fact it's a modern name is Ó Móráin (giving it's proper Gaeilge spelling) came from the medieval dynastic sept.
