@lights_utopia1130 Wrong again! I don't know the right people and I definitely wasn't in the right places. I simply set out to do something, educated myself on the process and did it. Did it wrong, came back and did it again. Did it wrong again, got some more education and finally did it right. To me too many people expect to go right to the top and it doesn't work like that. If you're waiting on the government or somebody to pass a law to save you, you're doomed it's a cold world out here and it's getting colder by the minute.
1
@Lynn-d6r You should look up anti-trust laws. No one has a monopoly on property in this country.
1
@sammie16508 I state experiences. Nothing to do with pride, my username is what it is. I'm not trying to convince anyone to do anything simply put if people are expecting politicians to take care of them they are playing a losing game. This victim mentality that the landlord is the reason for all my problems is crazy. Landlords have a right to make a profit just like every other industry. Cars, food, utilities, clothing and health care prices have increased more than housing but no one is saying cancel car dealerships or cancel the utility companies.
1
@SageTheTrashPanda It's okay no need to get upset, you're an adult, you have to come up with a plan to move away from renting. I know you can do it.
1
@katethegoat7507 You can stop paying rent whenever you want, just buy a house. Secondly, you never stop paying for a house, taxes, insurance, maintenance, and whatever else they can come up with. If anyone is out of touch it's you!
1
@katethegoat7507 I do pay a mortgage and a whole lot more. Stop renting if you don't like it.
1
@katethegoat7507 You would like for that to be true! The real problem is you want someone else to solve your personal problems for you. Landlords are not the government and they shouldn't be forced to be a part of the social safety net. If you don't like what landlords are doing "buy a house."
1
@chrism8180 No need because if the landlord wants to charge 10K a month that's his business he doesn't owe you anything. It's up to you to change your situation if you don't like it.
1
@ey67 Because this is America! You know the rules.
1
AreUKiddingMeTV Exactly, some people think there's an endless supply of free money.
1
@nunyabidness117 Supply and Demand!
1
@ChetHanks-eh1md Destructive tenants are a part of the equation you're foolish if you don't factor that into the equation. Your rent shouldn't double in 30 days, I've never done that. The only thing I can think of is your rent was way below market value or the property was acquired by new ownership. The bottom line is, ownership is the key, when you own it you can do what you want . I can't speak for the owner of your property you have to ask him why. Maybe he just wanted to get rid of you because he considers you a problem tenant, IDK!
1
@xian4812 6000 a year is 500/month, I don't think you can speak for every landlord. What if the mortgage payment is 1200/month now we're at 1700/month. I don't get your point. Everything matters, you don't know what's hurting the landlord.
1
@ChetHanks-eh1md LOL I've had the same tenants for 5+ years so I'm good. You might want to admit that you're a leech tenant who doesn't want to pay rent. I bet that if I did a background check on you, you've been evicted before. LOL! But that's okay my tenants are great I provide great housing at a reasonable price and they appreciate that. I hope they stay another 55 years.
1
@joelofty6436 Yes indeed!
1
@Rgrinkleson Maybe or maybe not but I'm sure the owner has his/her reasons. The best thing for the tenants to do is to try and become home owners so that they aren't subjected to those types of price increases. You can't make someone do what you want them to do.
1
@Rgrinkleson Well let's see if they can make landlords provide housing at a loss!
1
@Rgrinkleson Nah! You aren't smart enough to do that.
1
@chrism8180 Many landlords, I manage other landlord's properties as well. When I screen my tenants I look for only the best. Some of my landlord buddies don't follow my lead so they get stuck with sub-par tenants and then they get screwed. You should come for a ride-a-long with me some day.
1
@hjtres7261 Nothing gets won here, I'm winning in the real world. I guess half the country will have to keep renting until they can do what it takes to own a home like I did. Just don't give up.
1
@prismwing Insults are what people usually resort to when they can't make logical arguments..
1
@lionedheart That's not true only about 8% of homes are being bought by corporations. Most big corporations are building there own rental communities, It's much cheaper and they have total control. If people want to buy a house they can.
1
@lt3074 Yes it is easier said than done but it can be done. My first home was a horrible fixer upper but I bought what I could afford and got to work. It took me 5 years to fix it up the way I wanted it. Most people want to move into a plush home right away and if they can't do that they say they can't afford a home.
1
@lionedheart Wrong They are still building and the cost of supplies have come back down. It's difficult to build affordable housing because of government regulation. My first home was a horrible fixer upper it took me 5 years to fix it up. Most folks aren't willing to do that and want a perfect house now. Because they can't afford the house they want they say they can't afford a house. You must crawl before you walk.
1
@geomcc39 I really wish you could come and spend a week with me. So many tenants think that it's ok to destroy a property. The profit margin is so low. Landlords bend over backwards to keep a good tenant. I have remodeled kitchens, installed sheds, and painted rooms to keep my good tenants. But, if you destroy my property and we aren't talking normal wear and tear but abuse of course a landlord would expect you to pay for that repair.
1
@lloydmoore982 Affordable means spending your money responsibly. I know so many people who prioritize partying and having a good time over the things that really matter. Some times you should collaborate with friends and/or family to achieve your goals.
1
@lloydmoore982 Well that's the problem, no one is moving the GOAL posts. I see Hispanics, Nigerians, Asians, middle easterners and Indians working with family and friends to achieve financial success and stability. I guess you're too good to work with anyone hence no home ownership for you. I collaborate with several landlords and investors to purchase properties and build generational wealth. I don't know why you're assuming that we're individuals who made it to the top by ourselves. Collaboration is the key you should try it rather than making excuses.
1
@LittleGhostGaming505 Nothing is easy, yoU jUst gotta be willing to make the sacrafice and stop complaining.
1
@MrIndiemusic101 Landlords rent property to make money not subsidized your lifestyle. Every cost is factored into the rent. Every business in America operates under this principle or they don't operate for long. If landlords didn't exist the homeless population would quadruple over night. I consider that a huge value to society. Congratulations on buying a home.
1
@GotPoopInMySoup Naw I will keep my homes. I'm not complaining just stating facts to your complaints! I have two jobs by the way.
1
@GotPoopInMySoup Of course, but I'm still in business so I must have made a good business decision. Some tenants want to place their burdens on the backs of landlords and we can't have that. I always get my rent one way or another. I must be a great businessman!
1
@promethius7820 Or perhaps I'm doing good business! You can come up with any hypothesis you want. You can't live in someone else's property for free for long!
1
@GotPoopInMySoup I have two jobs! No complaints just responding to your sob stories.
1
@Suckmesideways420 Is Elon Musk greedy, or how about Jeff Bezos. Those guys are Billionaires and it's okay but the little guy trying to eeek out a living is greedy. You have the wrong impression of landlords.
1
@GotPoopInMySoup Tenants aren't the main bread winner of my household. My properties are doing what they are supposed to do, if a tenant doesn't want to be there I will always cancel the lease. Some people want to blame others when life starts to get tough. You will never achieve your goals in life until you are willing to accept responsibility for all of your decisions. The world doesn't owe you understanding or sympathy.
1
@byronmatthews It is wild and they always believe that someone (government) will pass some legislation that will save them. Not going to happen!
1
@ff7omega Certainly!
1
It ends when you buy a home. @vitalityfox
1
@Joefoss61 Facts only!
1
@missnlahi I can but not on youtube.
1
@Rage_Resist_Rebel You can never rely on the government, that's mistake number one. They are bought and paid for. You can only rely on yourself. We know what happened when the government was in charge of housing (projects) in the 60s 70s and 80s. No one is coming to rescue you.
1
@lionedheart I won't be angry, and of course it's my job to pay my mortgage. It's your job to pay rent. It's not my job to supply housing to those people who don't qualify. That's the government's job. Most properties that are AirBNB aren't affordable to most people anyway and that number is so small it won't have an impact on available housing. The government can regulate all it wants, but it can't regulate a person or a company's private decisions. If it's not profitable to be a landlord anymore then there will be even fewer properties available. Don't worry we will have a bunch of projects owned by the government for people to live in. We know what happened the last time we tried this experiment.
1
@bigredog100 Everything goes up every year, I don't see yall protesting the gas company, light company, cable company, car companies. Everything is going up! You gotta find a way to get yo money up too!
