It is not an opposition rooted in principle but in cold caculated Pragmatisms. That is why through out the post WW2 era, the US had no issues what so ever to put dictators in charge like Saddam, like Pinoche etc. Again no Nation acts out of idealism, all follow the laws of political Pragmatism, idealism is merely the fassade used to justify the govermental intervention to the populace.
