He made the decision to go frolic in the snow in a country on the US State Department no go list, the North Koreans didn't come to his dorm room and cart him away.  He broke the law in a dictatorial country (we all know he did) Was the sentence extreme? Yes, but when you go frolicking in North Korea and steal posters, that's what you risk. And who says he was beaten? the crazy Trump pawn parents? more likely he tried to hang himself, he didn't seem emotionally stable, cut off oxygen supply to his brain et voila ... save your faux indignation for a worthy victim, there are millions in the world
