The idea that American customer service is better "because of tipping" is just too easy. They could get rid of tipping tomorrow (the industry is moving in that direction) and the service level would remain the same. Also, look at the millions and millions of positions where tipping is not involved, (that's MOST jobs, btw) where American customer service is great. I would go so far as to say tipping has very little to do with it, it's just cultural. Notice who it usually is who says American levels of customer service are due to tipping: Europeans in these YouTube videos. They're just looking for a reason to justify their home country's crappy service and have glommed on to that coz it's easier than admitting their compatriots are just lazy or rude, etc. as a cultural trait.

You don't need extra curricular activities to get into American colleges. You just need good test scores and to be able to talk about what you do with your non-school time. It doesn't have to be school sponsored, you just don't wanna present yourself as someone who sits in the basement watching television, playing videogames and smoking weed all day. You could work, write music, read, etc. just be prepared to present yourself as a living, breathing participant in society. Kids building fake resumes to make themselves appealing to college Admissions reviewers can be spotted a mile away. I work in an Ivy League admissions office and I always give a thumbs down to anyone talking about how much "passion" they have for cheerleading or debate. Get real.

I would say your grandparents are at fault here. Letting you father founder for 7 long years because of school system kindergarten differences? why didn't they recognize this and support his transition?

@a45701 so far they have been easy to spot! applicants who would use chatGPT are also too lazy to bother editing them before submitting 🤣

@The_Dudester anyone talking about being a cheerleader gets a "polite decline" letter anyone talking about it as a competitive sport gets a restraining order 🤣 ... your nonconventional experiences would be most welcome, as long as you wrote about them minding your grammar rules which, no doubt, you would
