Brendan O'Brien millions of people don't have insurance in the us and it was even worse before the ACA, insurance companies have departments specializing in finding excuses to deny care, also if you don't have National coverage and something happens to you out of state, you're on your own, the US systems sucks that's why is still such a major political issues, universal healthcare is overwhelming popular everywhere it has been implemented

  3. Justin White the Canadian system is different from the U.K. Every clinic is private, but if you're a Canadian citizen the government covers the medical bills, so Rand Paul paid out of pocket for a top notch surgeon that regular Canadian citizens have access to thanks to universal healthcare

  4. Justin White did you not read my comment? Canada is not the U.K. And the government doesn't run clinics, almost all the clinics are private, the government just pays citizens medical bills, the clinic Rand Paul went to treats regular people whose bills are paid by the Canadian government

  5. Yoff yep, that's why private insurance for healthcare is not desirable, their main goal is profit so there's a perverse insensitive to deny coverage as much as possible

Yoff as theyve said in the video no system is perfect, if your argument is because Fraud exists you shouldn't have universal healthcare then I guess we have to abolish every system, every program, every administration, ban every company... the bottom line is under the US system tens of thousands of people die every year due to lack of healthcare, you don't have those numbers in other countries, no, not even with the waiting lists, unfortunately you have a lot of people dying because of malpractice but that's everywhere including the US so that's a separate issue
