I don't think an air of confidence qualifies as the content being correct and advisable. I think it's wise to keep doing our research from different angles and from many different dentists, especially functional holistic dentists and see the mouth as part of a whole. And not treat it separately from the rest of the body. That being said, I think it's probably not a good idea to focus on disinfecting the mouth, but rather supporting and nourishing the mouth to be a good environment for healing.

@dr.elliephillips what about your system would increase nitric oxide levels?

I actually saw a couple comments on other channels saying this system caused dark spots on their teeth. Not sure why. I think the CloSys might cause that

"Conclusion: In this study, frequent regular use of over-the-counter mouthwash was associated with increased risk of hypertension, independent of major risk factors for hypertension and several other potential confounders." - pubmed, NIH Its also been associated with diabetes and prediabetes.

@chrislastnam6822 .. original Listerine is nearly 1/3 alcohol and alcohol does kill good bacteria.

@leek7987 I did happen to see some comments on different channels saying they used Ellie's system and they got dark spots on their teeth from it. I think CloSys can cause dark spots... My question is why would that happen?
1
@leek7987 ..so I think Ellie deleted my message to you. I think it's better for her to reply and clarify than delete messages. What I had said was I saw people on other channels say that they got dark spots on their teeth after using Ellie's program. I think the CloSys might be one that does this.

@La-jn2os can't you get them from her own website?
1
@SunrayStar ok thanks. Good to know. Didn't know that bacteria stain teeth.
1
@SunrayStar hmm ok, can I ask where you saw it heard her say this?
1
@SunrayStar ok thanks so much. What is your take on using hydroxyapatite rather than fluoride?
1
@SunrayStar thanks so much sunraystar! It's very helpful. And you took all this time to help me. So basically we need to make our mouths as sloppy saliva-y as possible? It's like a tug of war between acid and low minerals and dryness in our mouth VS. Normal pH and high minerals and wet mouth? But what if we need extra help? I know that hydroxy appetite has been used for decades in Japan. I know they Europe bans stuff that we eat in our food and it's bad. Does their safety co mission keep ban ning it? I know some people use diatomaceous earth.
1
@SunrayStar ... I think dr. Burhenne says that hydroxy appetite does go into the dentin. Maybe it had to do with if it's nano particles or micro. Which can make a big difference

@SunrayStar ..i have tried to email her support multiple times for questions, including her products and I never get a reply. Plus I asked about mouthwash spiking blood pressure and she said it was only for prescription chlorhexidine, which is not the case. It happens with OTC mouthwash as well. I also saw a q&a from 8 years ago and someone thought she had metallic taste from the CloSys and Ellie said no, it's not from that. Well I can tell you I got metallic taste immediately after using it the first time. I think these dentists know a lot .. but sometimes they can get a little over-confident. I'm still not sure what to do. I might use some diatomaceous earth. And I will remember your comments about the saliva. Thanks for all your help. ❤️

@SunrayStar see here is the thing... I tried her zellies mints separately and they made me weak and sleepy I could barely function even tho I was drinking caffeine. I tried the CloSys separately and I believe it gave me stimulation. So if I do both those things together like she says, it's possible they cancel the bad side effects of each other. But what about the people who do the gum and not the mints with the magnesium? Don't they get extra nervous upregulation? My main issue with her recommended products is the whole body upper and downer reaction I get with them. UGH. If that was not a thing, then maybe I would go ahead with it. I have all the stuff. I guess I could try them together and see how I feel but I have this feeling like the mints might overpower everything. I could try xylitol powder and just hope that I don't get too much extra stimulation from die off of nitric oxide bacteria in my mouth. I think I need to research nano hydroxyapatite more. Can I ask how far along you are in the system?
1
@dr.elliephillips the last time I mentioned this you said it was prescription chlorhexidine. This statement says OTC (over the counter). Cool mint Listerine has over 21% alcohol. I think that would knock out a lot of both good and bad bacteria.
1
@dr.elliephillips .."Mouthwash use assessment: Baseline and follow-up questionnaires assessed frequency of oral hygiene aids including mouthwash use (not limiting brands or types)." I doubt any of them were using chlorhexidine.

When you say xylitol crystals, do you mean xylitol powder?
1
@SunrayStar I bought xylitol in little packets (XyloSweet) and nowhere on the box does it say powder or granules. Just "natural xylitol sweetener". I assume this is the same thing
1
@SunrayStar ok thank you.
