  1. Isn't it obvious? It takes less troops and material to defend than to attack usually 1 to 6. As Russian forces deplete, Ukraine further entrenches itself at the front. A stalemate is being produced. Russia doesn't have enough troops to further the invasion and Ukraine doesn't have enough to go on the offensive. But time is on Ukraine's side not Russia's.
