Russia denies this of course. 1/2 of all the casualties in WW2 were Russians. Late in the war, many Germans wanted to join the Allies against Russia. And now we have to deal with the global fallout of the spread of communism.

  10.  @White_Wrath  natural evolution has a biological imperative to be lazy (efficient). Working hard does not mean a person is not lazy. But working harder than necessary is also a form of working hard that is both unproductive and wasteful. To survive, life needs to maximize teh use of its available resources to safeguard the species. They will accomplish as much as possible with as little effort as possible. This is why giving people stuff rather than making them earn it creates problems. They are maximizing their outcomes with minimal effort, but if everyone did that, there would be no free crap to hand out to such people. Laziness is what motivates people to be more efficient, what motivates a farmer to invent the combine and tractor, what motivates a person to invent a washing machine so they can get more work done in teh same amount of time. But people these days don't understand this. They even invent things that make their lives HARDER. these people are lazy but stupid and inefficient. Lazy people who are smart and efficient is what we want.

Maybe a limit on development. if a patent is not being developed, it expires. only letting individual people hold patents, not businesses, etc. Depends upon how you implement it. shorter patent protection periods.

We file disclosures before sharing in meetings now. some people are basically just professional patent filers. They file up to 60 patents per year. That's a lot of paperwork to fill out and review, and meetings with layers, and models/images to make, meaning they aren't getting anything else done. They sit in meetings and listen to other people's ideas. Then turn around an file disclosures of other peoples' ideas right after the meeting. each patent filed is a multi thousand dollar reward to the engineer/s who filed it. Some of these guys are making up to $180k/yr just in patent awards, plus their base pay. And all those patents make them look good and they get promotions. but they are actually worthless engineers. Guys in my team only file our own ideas, and add each other to the patents when we helped develop the idea in some way. Or if someone else doesn't care, we'll file it, but include them on the patent so they still get credit and the bonus. But our team is small and doesn't like the corporate ways, nor do we operate with corporate methods in our team.

Solving triangles, square roots, quantum physics, Pythagorean theorem, chaos theory and 3+ body problems, and much more have somewhere between 2-infinite solutions. And there are Many different ways to solve almost every math problem correctly. If you stick to the basics and follow the basic rules, in general, yes, math is very regimented and rules based, but not nearly as much as you think. But if you never move past that level of understanding, you'll never truly master math nor get good at its range of real-world applications. In engineering for example, figuring out the range of acceptable variations of everything is really what you're trying to do, not solve exact equations. But yes, if something is a Proven Fact, then one person disagreeing could be seen as obstructionist. but it might also be that they are simply still learning and don't know all teh information needed to understand why they are wrong. We have to give people the chance to learn. And many times in history, when humans thought they had something figured out, only to find out later it was all wrong, had to accept that what they once thought was proven fact, was in fact not a Fact at all. And if we never have people challenging such notions, we'd never discover the truth. it all depends upon what they are disagreeing with, and why.

Others are amazing and do amazing work. total crap shoot. I judge people on their results, and nothing more. I value results far more than a degree even. When I was in High School I competed against college students in High Mileage vehicle competitions, bridge competitions, and more and I always trounced them, either winning outright or finishing top 3 to top 10. Surely college engineering students should have been able to beat high school kids, right? it only matters what you can do. not what credentials you can claim.
