it's actually also a matter of whether or not people have anything left to lose. if they have something to lose, they wont have kids. if they are poor and have nothing to lose, they have more kids.

@BLACK80085 one, I have met such people. But never once has one attacked me. But I've had people with something to lose try to kill me. People who have something to fight for fight harder. two, you misunderstand what it means to have nothing to lose. it's an economic issue, not a life and death issue. three, you'd be surprised how little people can make do with.

@johncahill3644 My Buick Lesabre cost me $8k with 25k miles on it, It's now 20yrs old, still gets 44mpg, are known to last to 350k miles per engine (and you can install a brand new engine for a few thousand). Very assy to work on, very low maintenance, very reliable. Many of my coworkers own Teslas, Ford Lightnings, VW EVs, Priuses, and more. I'll still never own one, and neither do most of my coworkers. FYI, we're all engineers, mostly Mechanical and Electrical Engineers. And yet over 90% of us do not own EVs, nor will we buy one. And our job makes us one of the top consumers of electricity in the world, as well as our state. And we even have EV chargers in the parking lot at work. Yet most people still aren't buying electric vehicles.

@Nathaniel-r8l nope. I propose changing many rules of society back. Undo the changes post-1970 like no fault divorce, unrestricted abortions (bring back consequences, but still allow multiple reasons a person can still get an abortion, but not simply to fix a stupid mistake and avoid responsibility), re-establish men as the head of the household (with exceptions), re-establish meritocracy, end gov welfare programs and bring back private charity as the dominant form of aid, end the department of education and restore authority to the teachers and fire all unnecessary school administrators and have the school funds follow the student to teh school they attend. and much more. things like that. remove gov control and restore individual freedom and restore individual responsibility and consequences. restore the rule of law. get rid of profiting from divorce, eliminate income based child support, eliminate mother bias in divorce, abolish slavery (alimony), implement mandatory paternity tests, etc.

@melelconquistador "Most pregnancies are non viable." Not remotely true. "Sometimes pregnancies are considerably more life threatening if not sometimes understood to be fatal." These days, that is rarely ever true. "With a ban on abortion and related care you would see a rise in mortality of both babes and mothers. " Not true. Abortion as an option is a rather new concept. Historically people couldn't and didn't get abortions, as the methods of abortion were dangerous. And back then they had far less medical knowledge, technology, and capability. And the human population Never declined as a result.

So why would you take that away and leave people resorting to ineffective and unsafe methods?" Because actions have consequences. Just because we can make nuclear weapons, doesn't mean you should use them. Unrestricted abortion and other recent changes to society in the last 100yrs have been more destructive than nuclear weapons.

@boulderbash19700209 increasing minimum wage, causes inflation. increasing minimum wage accomplishes NOTHING good for teh economy. and anyone who believes it will is an ignorant fool an needs to leave the big decision to teh adults. Minimum wage is still just over 7 dollarse, yet no one is getting paid less than about twelve per hour anymore regardless of a gov mandate. and many entry level jobs are offering over twenty per hour.

I believe it was Sweden that tried Socialism as well, their economy stagnated, and decades ago they switched back to Capitalism.
