@tazragames6770 based upon material losses, estimated costs in Russia to pay, train and equip conscripts, fuel costs, ammunition costs and expenditures in Ukraine, etc. Analysists that do this for a living run the numbers and come up with a reasonable estimate. In my experience, such analysts that do this for a living are pretty good at being accurate enough to not be worth arguing over the difference compared to reality.

yup, Russia needs long range strategic bombers just so they can fly all the way from the safety of Vladivostok, to strike 50miles into a neighboring country. They don't even have air superiority over their own country.

hit by what? Russia can't hit anything reliably except apartment buildings. Russia wasted many of its air defense assets using them as cruise missiles. How many air defense assets have Ukraine already destroyed? Ukraine alone is shooting down 60% or more of everything Russia is firing at them (Drones, cruise missiles). Imagine how much more NATO could do if Patriots, Iron Dome, and Other systems were brought to bear.
