"In that entire weekend you cannot find 30 minutes to charge?" when there is no charging in your area or at your destination, it's a real problem. 30min charge to top off the entire battery? you're delusional. Try hours. Remember, that's one way. And I could expect to do the entire round trip in a single day. Some places I drive there isn't a town (big enough to have a charger or to be incorporated) for up to 70 miles. And after 100k miles, then what? Can't sell it used due to cost to replace the battery. All of my cars have lasted at least 250-350k miles, and only one of them I owned when it had less than 100k miles on it. Your argument is bullshit.

So now you expect people to buy overpriced cars, and also buy tens of thousands of dollars of solar energy (by the way, solar doesn't work in my region, too far north, near perpetual cloud cover year round). But I know you're ignorant on reality. To have a chance of even powering my house, I'd have to cover every single square inch of my property with solar panels (not just the house but the driveway, yard, garden, etc. I know because I've already sized and priced systems). Also, people have driven Teslas in my region and evaluated cost. It was cheaper for me to drive my car with 44mpg than to charge a tesla for the same trip, and I saved hours of time not having to wait to charge. How do you charge in the middle of nowhere on a camping trip? What about towing capacity? You live in a fantasy world living in fear of fake boogeymen. CO2 is not going to end the world.

Electric prices have gone up same as gas, because our electricity is also made using natural gas. Your comparison is 100% bullshit as your not sharing costs of electricity and other assumptions to arrive at your numbers. And since I'm not paying $5/gal for gas at the moment (hasn't gottten that high in my area yet). But what's you electricity cost? What's your kW used for that 350mi? You're not making a fair comparison. You're just pulling numbers out of your ass.

  12.  @baddriversofthenorcalarea500  my car gets 600-800mpg and i use every bit of it, and regularly travel over 300mi one-way in a single day. people have done the same or similar trips in EVs, and they have to plan an extra day or two for the same trip just to recharge along the way. I have coworkers who don't drive anywhere near that far an they love their EVs. but they simply don't work for me. And the fact you think EVs do work everywhere shows me how naïve you are.

But it just doesn't work for everyone in all cases. Tech is evolving, and hopefully it will address those problems eventually. But you can't force change on people before the technology and infrastructure is ready. And when you factor in the cost of buying an EV, getting a charger setup (my house and many in my town literally cannot do it, the panels are too small and would need a serious rewiring of the house to the tune of thousands of dollars. I can't even run a welder at my house without an upgrade as my house is old and is maxed out with the main appliances already). Most people I know cannot afford an EV even if they wanted one. I've never spent even $10k on a car in my life.
