@vulpinemac "As more BEVs get registered, more money will come from that source. " as sales for EVs start to stall out. things do change, but stupidity never seems to change. You can't just hand wave away the Periodic Table of elements that prevents EVs from ever having high enough energy density and low enough weight.

what happens to ICE cars when a heavy EV slams into it? EVs are going to kill innocent people.

@richardpiotrowski2118 $175 is still less than a ICE driver pays in gas taxes alone, not to mention their registration and other fees. Your EV doesn't have to weigh 5000+lbs to be a problem. it still weighs more than the equivalent car. As more cars go up in weight compared to what they used to weigh, the roads wear out faster and need far more maintenance than they did before, meaning that gas tax and registration will keep going up.

@richardpiotrowski2118 you do not the rule make. you're cherry picking and thinking the world revolves around your lived experience. You have to consider the ramifications if ALL vehicles were EV. You need to stop being ego-centric and thinking the world revolves around you. this is why you fail to comprehend what I am saying. If all cars switched to EV, including people who drive a lot, trucks, etc. what I'm saying is true. And I was only basing my assessment on $0.30 average gas tax, and the average number of miles the AVERAGE driver drives per year. I don't care about you.

@vulpinemac then why are car manufacturers cancelling EV production, why are used EVs not selling? why are dealership lots filling up with EVs? Electric prices have gone up enough it's not cheaper to drive EV than drive ICE already. Why is Hertz dumping all their Teslas? Teslas aren't immune from the issus. Put your head in the sand all you like, numbers don't lie.

I've never once seen an ICE car catch fire. I know it happens, but it's so uncommon. Or when it does happen, it goes out so quick, someone like me never saw it. But an EV fire can collapse the entire hospital. EVs are an incendiary bomb.
