if the we ignore air friction (assuming rounds have a constant velocity), and use 3,600 feet per second as muzzle velocity. All you need to do is figure out how far the first round travels in 1 second or 1 minute. Then divide that distance by the number of rounds fired in that same 1 second or 1 minute period of time. If you want, you can also get more detailed and try to find basic dimensions on a single round (the projectile only, without the shell casing), and subtract the space occupied by the rounds fired within the time period before dividing the distance by the number of rounds fired. (I got 48ft between projectiles, not accounting for size of the projectiles, feel free to check me on that)

We've been using these overseas in combat back in what, 2007? That's ~14yrs ago. This is old news.

uh, where else are they supposed to test it? Last I checked carriers don't operate in lakes or on land.
