@dufonrafal The Cirrus wasn't supposed to be a factor for the metroliner. Cirrus pilot reported the C172 in sight, not the metroliner. Cirrus pilot has the responsibility to not intrude into the parallel runway's final approach path, but failed to do so. Cirrus pilot does not need to actually see the parallel traffic to avoid it. just don't overshoot the final.

Most accidents are caused by more experienced and/or professional pilots, not students. Pilots with less than 1000hrs actually have the fewest accidents. But from all the evidence (I've seen the radar replay and full audio), the Cirrus was completely at fault from my perspective. Also, it was Cessna 251 that was the solo pilot, the Cirrus was a private aircraft, from my understanding.

@2011blueman I've flown airports just like this, with even more traffic, and no onsite radar, and we had no issues doing discretionary base turns, or doing simultaneous landings.

@techsolutions8237 You are correct, Cessna 251 was the solo student pilot. The Cirrus was a privately owned aircraft.

CA moved to AZ, CO, and TX, and the end result was predictable.

@dufonrafal Well, I know that's not true as I have made Hundreds of landings on parallel runways at airports busier than this and very rarely got an alert about the parallel traffic. I knew they were there of course, so didn't need an alert anyways. And regardless of traffic on parallel runway or not, you Never overshoot final into the approach of the parallel runway. Even if you're the Only plane in the sky that day, you Do Not overshoot final into the parallel runway.

@dufonrafal You don't know that. As far as I heard and understood he Only acknowledged the C172. and since he didn't specify Which aircraft he did or did not see, you cannot be certain I am wrong, nor that you are right.

@dufonrafal But had the Cirrus not been out of position, the metroliner doesn't need to know the cirrus is there to avoid an incident. If they are both where they are supposed to be, no issue. Was NOT a student pilot. Cessna 251 was the solo student. The Cirrus was privately owned and carrying a passenger. The solo student has already posted pics and video regarding this flight.
