@FXGreggan. exactly, they couldn't even operate less than 50miles from railway lines.

@randomoldguy3967 I've used M113 for many years, it's better to be on the inside than outside. Used as a rolling pillbox supporting an assault against mostly infantry in trenches is a great use for them. The armor will hold up to small arms just fine. Not antimaterial calibers or antitank weapons. but Russians are lacking most things beyond basic infantry weapons anyways. You can use them to cross trenches and open ground quickly and effectively, and enable infantry to move to the enemy's rear far faster than walking.

air burst shrapnel

they can absolutely be used to attack, if used appropriately

look at how much equipment the Russians lost in teh first 12months. now consider how much equipment they have left and the current rate of losses. How long can Russian last?

Drones have been used effectively since WW2. And you wont see a massive change on how the US fights with drones, only in low-tier militaries.

......need a cluster munition....

Russia started this, raped, tortured, and murdered people, executed POWs, kidnapped Ukrainians, while claiming they were the ones under attack..... Gotta be subhuman to do many of the horrendous things the Russians did/do.

only 5miles?

watching Russian equipment used against Russian is strangely satisfying to see. Granted Ukraine was a key part of manufacturing many Soviet Era hardware.

@curiousguy6472 sure, lower tier militaries will surely be taking notes from Ukraine. But the US anticipated most of these developments years ago, or were already employing such technologies appropriately for decades.

@curiousguy6472 US is WELL aware of psychological warfare. We even used it effectively in Iraq and Afghanistan at times in my unit. Any professional warfighter is aware of psychology of warfare, it's warfare 101. But otherwise agree with you.

@curiousguy6472 I disagree. We beat them militarily, but we weren't committed for the long term to do like we did with Japan or Germany. They simply ran to Pakistan and waited for us to leave. They'd attack us again the moment they felt they could benefit somehow. We need to stay for 40yrs minimum, all the while building schools, infrastructure, and slowly building up 2 generations of educated Afghans that would then take over their country again under our guidance, to help them become a stable and prosperous nation. But people didn't have the vision nor commitment for that. And so teh Taliban just had to wait for us to leave. But we used Psychological warfare to outsmart, intimidate, etc. Lots of crazy but true stories of how other units tricked the taliban too.

@curiousguy6472 agreed

you mean how they wiped out all the HIMARs?
