  1. QUESTION TO ANY PHYSICS NERDS: I'm just dabbling in physics at the first year University Level. QUESTION: Can you use glasses as a shield? I was thinking about this while doing an experiment with glasses and a spectrometer. You might remember that from High School Physics, where you see the black line that helps identify the gas you are looking at. Well, that got me thinking; If you were in space, would it not make sense to insulate the spacecraft or station with a multi-variance of gasses to use as a shield? The more 'black lines' a person sees in a spectrometer also means that that particular wave of energy is blocked no? I'm still an amateur, but always thinking. -James Walper, Canada
