I wouldn't mind making 10% for an Idea for the rest of my life. I have thousands of great ideas. I can't physically produce all the results myself. 10% ROI for doing nothing, better return than the socialist Canada Pension Plan.

Ping Pong It doesn't matter really as long as people are making money. Being upset at how someone makes more money, is just envy. Lame really.

Its like this. I just sold a property for $300,000 to a friend. I don't doubt that in 10 years it will be worth nearly $800,000. But this is because I know my friend has more ambition to build a proper house on the location. I don't feel the need to slander him 10 years from now because I wasn't capable of being the right person for the job. Idea or not, it takes ambition to get things done. ...ideas are nothing, people with skills are everything. This is why there is a huge skills gap in the US> It lacks people that create. #stopsocialism

You should see what the military already has out.

Socialists believe there is one pie that we all share from. Capitalists bake more pies.

Elon Musk used a Libertarian style free market to make his first few millions, but then later turned socialist, to use your tax money to monopolize. I'm glad he opened up many of his patents, but let's face it, The only thing that kickstarted his career was the fact the government was too stupid to realize what the internet was. Only lately have they been regulating it to death, including limiting speech. Goodbye Freedom Vote Libertarian, let's turn every industry into the open and free industry that was the Internet. We advance when government is out of the way.
7
I love seeing Communist nations turn Capitalist. The communist party has been practicing better capitalism than many US states.
6
its not free healthcare though. You don't get it...

Parents are weird.
5
@Gitesh Mehta Bhartiya They are also the reason why some kids run the house, and end up in gangs because they have nobody to say "hey , Billy, stop being a dick".
5
@firefly4784 because unlike America, China has jobs and an economic future.
5
Note: You are confused because you are a product of a public school system that teaches conformity, then pretends to give you something to fight for as another means of control. But hey, if you like being forced, and using force on others instead of having voluntary exchange, thats on you.
4
False. Free enterprise does not allow the government to get involved in business. Monopolies exist because government favors some over others. Look at every monopoly and the regulations that protect them. What if I told you that 'safety' 'labour laws' 'trade schemes' and 'tax breaks' or 'bail outs' create monopolies... get government out of business! Then you have free enterprise, and free market capitalism.
4
Blew I'm a well off moron who will disappear overseas the more you try to tax me.
4
The bankers are not wanting to help the customer, they are wanting to stay in power. Please understand that this crash was coming either way. Milton Friedman predicted this in the 70s
4
markuseraccount1 He was smart at the right time, when there was no government in the way to stop him from creating business in a free unregulated market. Now the internet is being regulated by the establishment, and you'll see no more new startups... at least, not as easy. BTW, most of the wealthiest internet startups started by dropouts.
3
There is no contradiction, only confusion on your part. When the Government released the internet to the private sector, that is when it took off and we had this mass connectivity. If the government never opened it up, we'd have 14.4 modems still to this day, and we'd be praising glorious government for the fact we can dial into congress to see our rulers.
3
I like every part of your story minus the part of being part of the Chamber of commerce. You were receiving tax dollars during that time, as well as knew of developments that the state was building ahead of the public didn't you?
3
Sorry, I mistook your ecommerce with 'chamber of commerce' of which we have here in Canada. Its usually filled with some of the most corruption I've ever seen. We have local politicians that buy an electric car, and then use taxes to put in electric charging stations, or get a patio built in front of their businesses for customers that is maintained by city workers. I did not mean to judge. I've seen everything in Socialist Canada...

I would like to start a brewery, but up here, they not only increased corporate tax rate by 2%, they also added another tax onto the sale of Alcohol. (this is besides the heavy regulations on trade and inter-provincial (state) trade. What ever happened to the good days when I could literally brew in my garage and sell to people that voluntary buy my product, so I can easily fund a real venture? Instead of putting my house on the line.
3
I'm a politician, its my job to see data and associate it with other laws, regulations and problems that are direcly hurting it. It is also my job to show what has a direct influence on discouraging me to attempt to even get into a market place. In the world of business, it should be the company and the consumer that decide what is fair. Mutual agreement between two parties. If you don't want to work with said company because you feel you are being extorted, then I want you to have less restrictions in the way so you can start up a company for yourself, and make a better product as well as be your own boss. Do you get it yet?
2
You have some 'free states' though that still look mighty appealing for someone like myself who wants to get into building a business, but has so many trade cartels/government bureaucrats to deal with up here.
2
Wages, if dictated by government, actually drive up the cost of goods. This is the rat race that the western world has been doing for years, only worse, they have central bankers protected by regulation that borrow money on top of the problem. sigh... sad that people these days have no clue what Capitalism is.
2
If you can avoid loans, that is good. The Keynesian style banking system wants you to be under their debt control.
2
You have to take a loan to start a business in communist USA. The regulations, bylaws and other costs are driven up so high that it makes it impossible for anyone to enter the business world. That said, Instead of taking a loan, I would rather Government just got out of the way. Bylaws don't make people safe.
2
Capitalism is the voluntary exchange between people. The price is set by mutual agreement between buyer and seller, otherwise the deal does not go through. THere is absolutely no other way to do business by introducing a bully 3rd party collectivist theory into the mix. Collectivism is electing someone to determine the value of goods and services. This is not morally superior as no one person should have that right, therefore, capitalism is the best. Note: Please know the difference between Capitalism and Corporatism. Corporatism was created because of government involvement in something that should be controlled by individuals instead, and thus, you get problems in the market.

Wired Magazine did a documentary years ago on this. 'Future Cities'
2
So you have no argument what so ever with what I said other than I'm wrong. I can tell you have not figured out a major yet.
1
Even education itself is regulated. Government took it over and made it law to protect the established universities so they continue to stay in power. Meanwhile, we still have an internet here... with free knowledge, not being used because its not 'recognized' by the government (unless you pay the few established schools) That should be a crime. Government shouldn't be able to dictate what you know, and limit your ability to create opportunity. That is why I'm a Libertarian!
1
Great Documentary: Future Cities Shenzhen by Wired (magazine) China starved nearly 70 million people before they actually opened up their 'economic free zones' and let their own people create jobs with little or no regulations. The negative side about this is that this can change at any moment, because technically the communist party is still in charge, and that they did have a horrible environmental impact for a long time, however, that is changing as China is leading the way for green energy now. This is what happens in Libertarian/Hayek style Economies... technology increases.

He's getting subsidies today.

Jake Collier I have. Reading comprehension bro.

You have not run a business. It shows.
1
People will lose unsustainable jobs pensions and false security sooner than later, when it is really bad.
1
The scary thing is socialist are trying to give more power to the government, when in fact that is the problem.
1
No, I don't want them ruining my vegetables either!

Hey, Hackers. If you want to buy my R34 Skyline, hit me up. I will drive down from Canada. This isn't my first rodeo.
1
I have an R34 I'd love to let go in the US. R34GTT, for about $25k, I brought my s15 down a few years back. Us Canadians are willing to take part in the market economy if any Hackers wants to step up their game.
1
When you subsidize solar industry, its costs are artificially lower. Its unsustainable economics. Instead, if you wish to usher in this tech, you need to let the free market function.
