Not ironic at all. Its a fact that Socialism can't work without some outside funds. This is why millions starved in Mao's utopia. It wasn't until the 70's when the Chinese started opening up to Capitalism.

False. The government created TCP/IP, and it sucked balls until they handed it over to the private sector. If the government still ran the computer industry, we'd all have 56K modems and floppy disks, saying "Without government, We'd have no Internet" ....kinda like how I bet you argue about roads, while the rest of us Libertarians are wanting to usher in space travel and self flying modes of transportation. I've read everything from Noam. I used to think he was smart until I woke up to the fact that I'm not a fan of using force against others to determine how I live. Its oppressive. Also, do you have an idea of your own or are you going to quote other people? Do they control you?

There is no such thing as libertarian socialism. Its yet another socialist attempt to sway people that it is ok to democratically allow other people to control them. This is why the US is in the state it is right now, left or right wing are wrong. Left and right wing both use force (the threat of police force) if you do not obey rules that were put in place sometimes long before we were born. The idea of a social construct is another version of gentrification. Its another way of control. Meaning, no matter how much you sugar coat it, its not ok to tell other people how to live, its not ok to tell them what their labor is worth.

I owned my first house outright by 25 years old. 10 years before that, I had $0.42 in my bank account. Don't kill people's ability to uplift themselves out of poverty like I have. Stop empowering government monopolies, they are the worst, unsustainable monopolies.

In Capitalism, I decide the value of my labour and what it is worth by bartering with other people (my customers). Not to be confused with corporatism or socialism that is protected by democratic bullying.

Time and Labour... something Capitalism allows the individual to control, not others. Capitalism allows you to bank your labour and have choice. That said, I doubt anyone here can tell the difference between capitalism and corporatism, and because of this I bet you vote Republican or Democrat...

What? Capitalism gives you the ability to determine the value of your labour. There is nobody managing you in a true capitalist society. In Capitalism, power is shifted away from managers. Please don't confuse corporatism (that spawned from socialism light) and Capitalism, that was how the US was allowed to let people like Tesla have a laboratory to create AC electricity. Stop regulating our scientists out of existence! PS, the DPRK is a perfect textbook example of a socialist country. Government and people. Two their socialist class state. Communism doesn't exist. It never will. Even in Denmark you forfeit your rights to be managed by government, who puts a new car tax of 200% on you. ALL HAIL GLORIOUS GOVERNMENT right?

Again, still doesn't get the difference between Capitalism and Corporatism. Why do you think Banks and Corporations get bailed out? Because socialist government policy protected them and they became unsustainable. The market is supposed to crash every day, and other companies are supposed to be able to come along and take that business away when pollution, and greed get exposed. They can't if you don't let the market be controlled by individuals. The really scary thing is you don't realize that the transition to newer technology relies heavily on old technology. Taxation drives up the costs, regulation drives up the costs, slowing down the transition to renewable resources.

PRO TIP: If you work a job you hate, quit. Give that job to someone else what will love it. Complacency and limited skills are for idiots. Read the book 'the power of thought' (prefer if you read 'the red circle') first. Learn what success is. Trading masters from Corporatism to Socialism or 'mob rule' can still leave you sad and unfulfilled. Own each day.

Capitalism is balance because it revolves around the customer. The 1% you think you know about was formed by government intervention, regulations that only let them play in the market. Government regulation and tax schemes are what cause monopolies faster. Corporatism isn't Capitalism.

@caycug1 I have been on private roads before and they were great. Better maintained than the local town... and I even live in Canada, which exerts more in taxes. See, the thing is, when you have taxes and government fixing things, you have government monopolies. I'm curious though, how much are you entitled to what someone else has worked for? Also, you can vind K-12 online for FREE. No cost to taxpayers. (actually you can get the first 4 years of university too). If you want free education, you can actually get it right now. I mean, unless you like monopolies and slowing down progress?

@caycug1 You've never been on private sector roads. I have. They were WAY better maintained than the cities up here in Canada. When government has a monopoly, it leads to corruption.

@caycug1 I drove on roads owned by CNRL and Nexen. I also drove on a road owned by Budweiser. Also, are you aware that roads are one giant oil spill? It really is hilarious to see people worship government and not know how anything works.

@caycug1 The odd belief that its ok to elect someone to bully other citizens on your behalf to pay for the things you like. It's very similar to the way the churches used to operate when they thought it was morally ok to take from some and then banish others. So, that is why I refer to you as a church of government supporter. Very cultish. I'm still curious though, as you have not really answered. How much are you entitled to what other people earn?

@caycug1 I've driven on roads that were built by businesses to get their product to market, and they were better than the pothole taxpayer debt based roads we have today. But hey, I guess Detroit (loaded with lots of glorious government ideas) has the best roads. MUH ROADS!!!!

Yet they still rely on a representative managing the funds and selling to people that may not buy their product if they can't offer it for the best price out there. I find it hilarious that they are in competition with other nations who desperately are trying to get out of socialism.

Mr Bear. I'd argue that more people are moving to India and Bangladesh the more the western world regulates themselves out of work. Canadian Government pension plan actually invested millions of dollars in housing in India. But why are people moving there? They are less regulated than the western world. The free market exists, and because of this, the jobs and tech industry moves with it.

You are not getting what I'm saying. I'm saying, take the power away from the elected person, and the bureaucrats under him. A constitutional republic with the law protecting the individual will breed a society of success. You can elect people all you want, they are powerless because you created a system that is filled with more laws than was in Communist China.

To be honest, these 'COMMUNES' are exactly like how the Hutterites work in Canada. You have an administration that is extremely wealthy, and then the un-educated workers that work under them who think they are contributing to something great.

Communism never happened. I'll explain, because I read books... You have people that tried to usher in Marxist ideologies and a communist utopia where everyone is equal. Some of these are elected democratically, others are through revolution. What happened in every situation is once you overthrow the 'rich oligarchy', you are left with many people that don't know what to do, so they then either empower a government to 'administer' all that equality, or those people simply take power. So, now you've just created a two class society. Government (gets paid by taxation, IE your labour) and then everyone else. Gee, what ever could go wrong? PRO TIP; Communism has never happened, and neither has Capitalism. The difference though is that Capitalism empowers the individual to have choice, Communism creates a culture where individuality doesn't matter, and that (through force, democratically or otherwise) you are bullied to be a product of your peers. So, good luck with that. Millions starved under Mao, including some of my friends family.
