  2. Its his attempt to classify gun owners as fear mongering people. I'm a Canadian, with some of the strictest gun control, and we still have shootings. I own guns for the same reason I have a fire extinguisher. I don't expect the kitchen will be on fire, but I'll be prepared for if it happens. America, never let them take your 2nd. These people are playing the socialist slow game of taking away your rights. Self defence is a human right and their opinion should not be able to force you to comply. You are not a threat, they are.

  4. Red Deer Alberta, a guy went out to confront a guy stealing his truck, and was killed by a machete. Some small town Saskatchewan, some kid did a school shooting 3 months ago. Quebec in the 90's the Biker Gangs were using RPG's on each other. Lethbridge Alberta had a tunnel between a couple campus buildings labeled 'the rape tunnel'. Rape rarely happens when the victim is able to defend themselves. Maple Ridge BC: Robert Pickton (google that name), that is all the reason you need. Highway of Tears: BC (there is a netflix documentary, but there wouldn't be if those women had the ability to defend themselves against a murderer who may still be on the loose today) Even the shooting in Quebec that caused our Firearms Act in the first place was enough of a reason to say 'hey, murder is illegal, maybe we shouldn't be disarming people that needed to be armed'. I do not advocate everyone have a gun. There is idiots out there. That said, I strongly believe that education on firearms is lacking. My father used to take a gun to school because they had a wolf problem (Similar to the aboriginals having polar bear problems right now). Peoples human rights to self defence trump stats and opinions from other people. That is just how it works. I may not be a fan of the LGBTQ community, but I understand that as long as they are not forcing an opinion on me, they have rights, same goes for the gun community.

  5. The thing is, most non gun owners don't realize that we are not trigger happy idiots. These gun rallies are because our rights are slowly being eroded away. It is scary how the same people are against a police state, yet are advocating for making more laws. ...they don't get it. I wish the vast silent majority would speak up more often.

  9. Mckessa King It has nothing to do with the law. We just simply don't have the gang warfare like you do. Its a mental health and gang problem. Nobody ever shares the stats on how many times firearms saved lives (where they were never fired, but dismayed individuals from causing harm to others)

  10. My point was there was a day when people looked at homosexuals as people that spread AIDS. Back in those days there was a lot of people wanting to ban homosexuality. Being I'm a Christian, I have my own views, but more important, being I'm a Libertarian, I believe they have rights, just the same as gun owners. I'm trying to point out that freedoms and civil liberties are for everyone as long as they are not trying to use force against others.

  14. ^Rico, this is because the Government is trying to protect itself, not its people. Its a process of control. When you have a government that isn't kept in check by its citizens, it has total control over its people.

  16. And gun owners are just looking for that same respect. If you have a wierdo with an AR strapped to his back at starbucks....yeah, call the cops. But if you have people that want to protect their famalies because they don't want to have the inconvenience of waiting 5-45 minutes for the police to arrive while they are being murdered or raped, let those people have the basic human right of self defence, much the same as the LGBTQ community. I'm from Canada, and all rights matter.
