@kcalb33055 What are the causes of most movements? People feel marginalized because they look around at the world and feel that they're missing out on something that other people have. That, and perceived injustices.
The problem today is that political parties understand the usefulness of fear and they instill it in their base to rile them up and make them run on emotions rather than logic.
The world will never be completely equal, it's simply not viable. Even if everyone had the exact same income, house and cars people would still be upset that some were skinny, some were stronger, some were taller and better at sports. It's human nature. Competition is built into most species to some degree.
That being said, I don't disagree with what you said. Monopolies are a problem, and there are supposed to be laws to prevent that, but money talks and politicians look the other way.
The biggest problem with capitalism isn't capitalism itself, it's human greed.
As we become more divided and it becomes more about me vs you or you vs them (hypothetically) capitalism will continue to devolve because accumulation of stuff will continue to be the goal in order to "win the game".
The breakdown of the family, to me, is an even more imminent and dire threat to our civilization as social media and technology take over conversation and quality time spent together.
