  1. When Justice Roberts opines the Court does not engage in politics, this is false. Oliver Wendell Holmes called it "verbicide," that Justices of the Court should, "interpret the constitution as if they themselves had written it." Indeed, justices on both sides are selected, opposed, and battles fought, on the basis of their political views on key issues.
