  1. How much in currency (called Dollars) one receives for one's labor, is entirely relevant to its purchasing power, and along with savings, a preservation thereof. Wages always compete with profit and rents. High profits and rents = low wages & interest on earned savings. And contrary to common "wisdom," labor is not a "cost," but an asset unto itself, no matter at which stage of production labor is applied, of a production of wealth. All labor creates its own wage, properly viewed as compensation.
