  1. Saying medium power countries snatched control of the Middle East implies at some point the USA had control of the region which just isn't true. Both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars were complete disasters. The faster countries move to energy independence by relying on renewable energy the faster the middle east reverts to the irreversible impoverished region it was before oil was found there.
