90-95% efficienct still means it uses more electricity than it produces which makes it useless.
27
I'm undecided on how I feel about the tittle.
22
So many puns this video was a riot 😂
21
I strongly strongly strongly urge you to make friends with some IT people especially ones with Linux and home network experience. Have them help you select "smart" home products that can be run exclusively from a closed home network. This is both for your security & to prevent you from being at another companies mercy. If Alexa controls your doors windows & AWS haS an outage, you're now locked out of your home in the rain. (AWS averages 3 to 4 outages a year) Or even worse when companies go bankrupt or simply turn off the check-in server products require to function because they want to push your towards new products or just don't pay to pay to runs the servers anymore. Well now you can't control your shades or lights until you redo your home set up completely.

4:50 I love this comparison to roads because roads in the USA are terrible especially in small/medium sized towns. It's not working for roads it won't work for the electric grid either
11
Yeah I live on a high population island so it's standard putting solar power on roof tops & to cover parking area. The USA has massive parking lots (Walmart Nebraska furniture mart Costco Disney etc). So it's always baffled me solar was put in the wild instead of in the city where the power is needed anyway lol
11
You mentioned a minimum wind speed but not a maximum wind, I assume because they didn't give you this information but in curious how this system would hold up to high winds. I live in the tropics so all building roofs are flat. This would be good to combine with the solar panels to generate power at night.
8
I live in the Caribbean and can finally afford solar panels hopefully getting them installed this August or September
8
Given the increasing severe weather patterns I think a city underwater would probably be safer
6
You should join nebula
5
Maybe it's just because I live in the tropics but my first thought wasn't fire but termites and rot from moisture.
4
I hope you automated it through a home network and not reliance on 3rd parties. The moment they stop supporting your product or go out of business you're fucked and your lights/door locks/shades/etc stop working
4
@ezachleewright2309 maybe from humidity but I leave in the Caribbean, I'm willing to bet even if a hurricane doesn't blow it over it will force moisture into the boards which will eventually warp and rot.
3
@RunaroundAtNight but then you have to run power lines back to the city which isn't cheap. It makes more sense to cover Disney's parking lot with solar panels & then let Disney power there millions of watts they need for everything at the park during the day & dramatically decrease demand on the grid, especially during a hot summer day.

Recycling lithium batteries isn't that hard you just strip out the lithium and drop it in water
3
I like your optimism talking about things like the future
3
Speak for yourself, I want a scuba tank attached to my phone. I'd never have to worry about someone trying to steal it again 😂🤣
3
They better name them skynet lol
3
I guess someone forgot to tell you "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas."
2
Gotta pay for that yacht
2
@UndecidedMF yeah I commented before the video ended 😂🤣
2
Replacing plastic bottles & going back to glass for bottles of milk & soda globally would be far worse for the world. The amount of fossil fuels burned to make the glass not to mention the already shortage of sand. Sure glass is reusable but the fact that there's like ~8,000,000,000 people makes it impossible to provide enough glass bottles for everything.
2
Looking forward to seeing the police use nuclear power teasers on USA citizens
2
Of course it is haven't you read/seen the expanse
2
@nastybadger-tn4kl while I feel like your comment is just a petty cry for attention if that's really how you than you should know that youtube recommendations work on 2 factors. Watch time and engagement. If you thought the video was bad the worst possible thing you could have done is watch it all and then leave a comment too 😂🤣😂🤣 so GG you played yourself.
2
@17:00 are you sure AI still needs human input? Google's AI told me to eat rocks and put glue on a pizza. Seems like they're doing a good job of impersonating people already 😂🤣
2
First to cry for the attention mommy didn't give you because she doesn't love you
2
Wren is such scam I can't believe you let them sponser them. They're sponsered by big businesses to continue to push the narrative that individuals control climate change. A single large multinational company releases far more carbon in to the atmosphere than all individuals combined.
2
@user-gf9uz3vw7h you're absolutely right just look at how unaffordable luxaries like phones and home computers are not to mention TVs. The prices keep going up every year 🙄🙄
2
It will never happen that would require global cooperation
1
If you carefully peel apart lithium ion battery to take all the coverings off and expose the lithium, you can drop it into your toilet for some fun.
1
I'd love to install this instead of a traditional AC but I live on a tropical island that's like full of caves & underwater rivers so digging down isn't always viable in most areas
1
I know youtubers generally strive for clickbait thumbnails & titles but just putting rocks on the thumbnail Without specifing volcanic rocks is pretty misleading. Coal is just carbon rocks. Nuclear fuel is just ore refined from rocks so one could argue those facilities are powered by rocks too
1
I'm undecided about this title 😂😂 More seriously, I'm excited to be a first time in my family home owner, it's still being built but when it's ready I'm paying a friend (he's an electrical engineer with bachelor/master degree) to rig me up solar power and battery storage as he's done for himself and some other people. Basically a side job for him so I'm not doing it myself but also not paying a professional company either.
1
Hydrogen will never work because there's not a green way to get it.
1
@highlander723 he was undecided on a name
1
@UndecidedMF unfortunately I have no idea how you would sign up as a creator. I just pay once a year as a subscriber so it's easy for me to sign up lol Maybe reach out to LegalEagle or RealEngineering as I believe they're the founders?
1
This seemed like a cool technology at the time but then the creator mysteriously vanished and his company was disbanded 😂🤣
1
@nicadi2005 clearly you know very little about fusion. If I could get back all te energy I put in plus a 95% return on investment everyone would use fusion. There'd be no nuclear facilities, much less coal or oil burning factories. But starting and maintaining a fusion reaction uses MORE energy than it produces. Hence why fusion has always been a pipe dream. 95% is much closer than previous attempts that were only 50% or 60% but it's still too far away to achieve the infinite energy dream of fusion power
1
@mtgn10 considering about a week ago scientists demonstrated a reaction that outputted more energy than it took to start the reaction. I think it's safe to say you've got your head up your ass. But keep replying your idiocy feeds the algorithm by increasing engagement & makes it easier for more people to see Matt's videos
1
Mac?? I'm undecided how I feel about that 🤣
1
Maybe you're not aware but poverty & homeless in the usa has been skyrocketing since the late 1970's/early 1980's so many people would be great ful just to have a home tiny or not.
1
We should just put fission reactors in all automobiles 😂🤣☠️
1
"what is a solid state battery" I'm undecided 😂🤣
1
If wasn't for the weather getting crazy due to climate change I would be 100% for flying in an airship. Not to mention the melting ice will put an end to the wind stream they want to use. Edit: I forgot to mention the ongoing shortage of helium which has medical uses yet supplies would get prioritized to airships because businesses interests > medical needs sadly
1
Why don't they just strip down the battery to it's components, give them a good washing in water and re-sell them as shiny like new 😂😂😂
1
Back in 2024? We're still in 2024....
1
Until they're small enough to power our sex toys, they're not small enough 😂🤣
1
Hey Matt @UndecidedMF today the news was talking about using synthetic diamonds to replace perovskite in solar panels. Love to hear your thoughts on how viable that will be. Personally I don't think it will ever be cost effective. We've been making diamonds in a lab forever but never been able to make them affordable
1
It's funny that you think someone renting an apartment could afford one of these
