@Krash Me Yes, and japanese people have what we in Mexico call "horas nalga" meaning doing nothing because they have to wait for their bosses or coworkers to go out. Many of them are also umhappy with their marriages or family life and don't want to go home but a lot of times it isn't forcing them non stop till midnight, it's a social construct of them not being able to be assertive and get out to their correspknding hours.... You kneew that don't you?

@Krash Me Right doesn't mean bad, left doesn't mean good.....the American / gringo view of that doesn't necessarily apply to the world, although in Japan sadly as the US had a lot of influence on them (poor japanese people) you may find more closely related aspects in their politics although . Here in Mexico that kind of mentality to politics doesn't apply but I guess...again you don't care or knew...Seems you're living in a bubble.... But yeah, in 2019, the japanese government also put heavier laws on overwork, although it applied mostly to bug conpanies, as you said...baby steps. But what I have seen that is interesting is that conpanies that aren't related to the food industry, made by younger people have waaaay better working conditions, in the food industry it seems it still is as bad as in other countries but yeah... In part tbh that's their culture and if they like it well....We should stop IMPOSING our beliefs on them, they're a different culture

The problem is worse, we have 60% of our people working informal jobs, jobs that can be dangerous in many areas, and they still work long hours for low wages that arent even monthly, which means one month they can earn “well” and another month they won’t, they don’t have any social programs available to them, they are exposed to crime, etc….so it’s worse than you imagine
