With respect, Royal Mail was sold to British Oligarchs first at a huge discount by the Coalition Government when Vince Cable was business secretary. Those British oligarchs made a huge profit, but then loaded up the business with debt, as well as liquidating the properties that Royal Mail owned. They renamed the business and they spent some money on IP, but essentially they couldn't meet the Universal Service Obligation and make a profit. So make no mistake. It was British oligarchs who set that up. And the Czech billionaire is picking up what's left. He's getting the leftovers. So forget about the nationality of the asset wealthy people whom British politicians court and listen to. Just remember British politicians need to prioritise the long term welfare and needs of the British asset-limited and assetless voters. Why? You have people working full time needing to use food banks. It wasn't Foreign politicians who did that to British workers, it was probably politicians you or people you know voted for. And if you do vote for Tories, or Reform, who are Tories, or Red Tories, if you don't think outside your box, you, you children, and their children will be served up to the needs of the asset wealthy. @Neilhuny It still is, and some library services have a Digital Book Lending Service as well. Many collections, especially of rare books are being digitised and lent out with DRM protection if still in copyright in pdf and epub format. Gary's book is probably already in most libraries, because publishers market to library services. And the epub version is out.

Fear and Greed. Fear of Death comes into it because both are unevolved parts of our survival instincts. It's only when they getting one over on someone else do they actually feel alive.

What do you think the game strategy should be? What game are you playing? Tiddlywinks? Monopoly? Or Texas Hold'em? Different games, different strategies. The only thing they have in common is that there is a winner and many losers. The answer depends on your ability to understand the strategy needed to win, and how to implement that strategy. So, do you have any idea?

You actually said the magic word: solidarity. This is no fight that can be won alone. We're an individualistic society, but that means it's easy for Divide and Rule to be used against us. It wasn't until I discovered that Neoliberalism wasn't just an economic ideology, but a social one as well - even as Thatcher said "There was no such thing as society. Only people and their families, did I understand why she got so much traction. We believed her, and that was the wedge they needed to destroy the dysfunctional but reformable sources of solidarity in the British working class. Divide and Rule. And that made what we have now easier to do. It was easier to transfer wealth away from workers. It was easier to create a scapegoat of the week to distract us from what was really going on. We have to see the lies for what they were. And admit no man is an island, and if we stick together while respecting each other, we can't be beaten. That's what they're scared of.
