No parliament can be bound by a past decision. If it is the will of the people and Britain meets the qualifications, then the UK can join proceed with joining the EU in the future.

It's not about was done, it's about what can be done in the future. No present or future parliament can be bound by a past parliament. And if it's the will of the people at that time, and the UK qualifies for membership, then there is nothing preventing the UK joining the EU. That's the essence of parliamentary sovereignty.

you would have to present your biometric passport, which would go on a database. And when you travel you have to register with local authorities. It's still freedom of movement, but you have prove your right to be there. Very much like Brits moving to Ireland. We have to present a passport on arrival, or be removed from Ireland immediately now.

You must American right? Brain fart alert.

Not true. The public want it lifted.

<Yawn>.

Lol. By that time that fact might make it easier to swallow. We are the Sick Man of Europe again, and we have a government intent on trying to use austerity to grow an economy. Like when has that ever worked in history? Never. So... We'll be seeing you sometime in the future. À bientôt, mon ami.

At it most simplest, it's like a balloon filled with water. Brexit put a hole on that balloon, and so far the UK has failed to generate positive growth to offset the 4% pa dripping away. We can pump water in if we have economic growth that is significantly larger than 4% pa. We haven't done that yet. So the water is still being lost and the balloon is still shrinking. We need to earn more than 4% pa just to stand still, and a lot more than 4% to actually pump water in faster than we're losing it. So we are getting poorer and poorer year by year. So... That means everybody who isn't asset wealthy will get poorer every year as time goes by. And our economy isn't set up to gain GDP growth of +4% each and every year. We can't even make 4% net. Just check the GDP pa from 2016 onwards. Growth has been sluggish even without Covid and the Liz Truss Moron Premium. Plus, we are entering period where inflation will tend higher. When did we ever grow more that 4% GDP a year. Never, so odds on, we will not do it now either.

Keep praying that's true. But remember, no past Parliament can bind a future one.

Who gave you the right to speak for anyone but yourself?

Not quite true.

Not really. There are those who would wish that was the case, but it's honestly not the case. If you had said that they are more worried about their own issues right now, I'd be inclined to believe you. And the EU Commission can exercise its right to enforce WTO rules on the UK. Wasn't that what the Hard Brexiteers wanted? So, yes, the EU can do that, but Starmer will strive to outline procedures to do that. So, we can expect many changes in how we find the money for our own customs and revenues checks. And it will take years before it runs smoothly to boot. The money is there, and those who want these things will have to pay for it.

You are entitled to your present doubt, but you have no lock on the future. There are many ways for things to move, and aren't as cut and dried as the bots want us to believe. "When needs must, the Devil drives."
