  1. I think you are utterly unaware how much your 330 million people are dependent on the rest of the world for its wealth. After all, that's why the US defence industry is so big. It protects the USA's interests, and ensures that the world depends on its currency. Retreat by the US means a smaller market for its debt, which is its biggest export to the rest of the world. Imagine if people stopped buying it. What would the US do then? Perhaps you should ask your corporations and plutocrats about that. Countries busy spending on war can't afford to buy more debt, and may indeed want the debt they already own to be repaid so they can afford to rearm. Just a thought.
