Fair enough, but it's reasonable to say that those whose wealth depends on the climate would also be using empirical evidence to guide their financial decisions, right? Then ask yourself why the insurance industry is refusing to insure areas affected by adverse climate events? To your thinking that would be leaving money on the table, right? Or why new developments in Florida in cahoots with local and state government is moving to formerly low value but higher land away from the coast, and are actively decamping the poorer communities that lived there to build on that land? Perhaps they know something you don't. Just a thought.

You don't own anything because you are on your way to the grave, and you can't take anything beyond that. You don't own the air you breathe or the water you drink, you only have the right to use it exclusively. And the climate doesn't belong to you. It belongs to everyone alive, and it's changing in response to the collective actions of humans. So what do you own? Nothing. You are a guardian of what you have around you, and in that you have a responsibility to those that follow you. Once you are dead, you can't take anything with you. So time to understand that ownership is not ownership, but a right to use but not destroy.
