Sorry to sound like a nerd, but it is like living in the Matrix. Until circumstance force most people to confront certain realities, nothing will change. And those people deserve not pity, but compassion, because until they realise things are irretrievably broken, they won't want to change. So when it comes, pain will come with it. We're simmering frogs on the stove.
