Sadly, the financial needs of commercial property investors carries more weight than the human needs of workers in this context. One size doesn't fit all, and it's counter-productive to insist on it. However, it must be said, it is being used by some employers to reduce their workforces. They are insisting on their remote workers returning the office. If they refuse, they are being forced to resign. Its ironic that before the industrial revolution, those who could work at home often did. Hell, even the Prime Minister works from home. Economies exist to meet our needs. Why aren't they the priority?
