  1. The shlp is intact except for losing its mast. The wind that created the water spout was strong enough to break the mast and overturn the yacht. It went over on its side and as the ship wasn't sealed up, so water ingressed, and sank very quickly. Those on deck survived. Those inside didn't.

  2. I think the scale of the collapse is shown by the the 4-lane highway section lying across the MV Dall's bow, and the crew members standing on it like ants. That heap of highway will have to be broken up and moved before the bow will rise.
