  1. OMG So our Trade Minister hasn't heard of WTO rules. She should do, as the UK and every country in the EU are WTO members. Within the WTO there rules under the GATT Treaty that define who and what are Third Countries, and their rights and responsibilities in trade deals. These are formal rules, and they are not discretionary. And our Trade Agreements with the EU has to comply with those formal rules. As Kemi worked in Compliance in the Financial Sector, she should be aware of those international rules. But her answer stating "the EU raised trade barriers against us" doesn't fit the facts. Perhaps she needs to brush up on WTO rules, because that answer doesn't fit the facts.
