  2. I think Microsoft's road map has just hit a major bump in the road with the uptake of Windows 11. Their insistence on consumers buying a new TPM 2.0 enabled computer to run it has been met with significant apathy. Right now only about one third of windows users have moved to Windows 11 from windows 10. And they have just advised that Windows 11 can be installed on computers without TPM 2.0, but at the user's own risk. Why? Windows 10 will no longer be supported from Oct 2025 for free from that date. For support you will have to pay $30 per year from that time. I'm one of those people who isn't surprised, because it's a move by MS is at least grounded in their customers' economic reality. The K shaped recovery after the pandemic became the K-shaped economy. And consumer spending is weak, hiring has fallen off a cliff, and worker participation is falling as unemployment is climbing. And the cost of living is high. I think this trend will grow.
