  1. The ideal of "efficiency" is in practice often inefficient, because efficiency requires inefficiency to work if things go wrong. Backup systems when seen from the short-term cost perspective are inefficient dead money, until of course, things go wrong. Corporate Financialisation as shareholder primacy, demands maximum profit by hook or by crook, and who gets shortchanged... The customer, as they have little power in corporate boardrooms. Ask Boeing how that works... Or any privatised company especially as manufactured uncertainty is eroded employee satisfaction. There is no loyalty, or service ethos that can be sustained, when profit over everyone and everything else is primary.
