What you and he with your limited and over specific focus ignore is, that if that happens, the USA is done as global hegemon. If China invades Taiwan and wins, it's over for you. Ukraine is the testing ground for you. Fail the test, and there will be consequences, that end up on your door step. It's a game of chicken, and you're in danger of faking out. That's the unsavoury truth. You need technology and you rely on the rare earths and you don't have an indendepent supply, nor a complete lock on the technology. That's the truth, and throw away the key, and you throw away your future gains. It's that simple. Just man up, or put up.
