It's for want of a better word, "leftist" populist exclusionary nationalism to win the votes of people worried about immigration, but doing nothing significant to realistically address voters concerns, or to create an immigration system grounded in solidarity with citizens or genuine refugees. Its just a fixation with Faragism. Labour is missing the elephant in the room while fouling it's feet in the evidence. Democracy will die not from being killed, but from the neglect of those charged to defend it and the values that define it.
