  1. You don't know why Israel is important to the United States, this isn't the place to teach you. It's a complex history, and since industrialisation, has been central to economic growth in the West because growth is resource driven. Not just commodities, but finance, Networks, and knowledge too. So the region and the state of Israel sits in a strategically important place, and the Jewish diaspora is on every continent. So connections matter.

  2. You can be sure she can't point to Israel on the map. As Vice President, she is the equivalent of our Deputy Prime Minister in that they are briefed at the same time as the Prime Minster and the POTUS. They have to be, because if anything puts them out of action, the deputies are in charge.
