I think you have no understanding of an employers duties under the Health And Safety at Work legislation. This your comment have no bearing on the facts. By law employers have to provide First Aiders and First Aid Kits, but eye injuries cannot be treated by First Aiders. Most likely the word came from the top to not call an ambulance because their would be a third source of evidence about the working conditions if they did. And the company will be charged if they call an ambulance to their premises. That's why they did not call ambulance for this worker. That is appalling, unethical behaviour.

TLDR: Amazon does not want union representation for their workers. Neither do they want to engage with unions to improve working conditions. That is not the fault of the unions or their members, but of the Company. Your comment is sheer bottery, and bears no relationship to the facts.
