Well Professor, we can only keep calm. The truth of why this occurred will emerge eventually, but it must be noted that such issues have happened elsewhere in the world. And likewise, the seriousness of what occurred only known to insiders until much later. And when you consider how the evolution of banking systems has occurred, backup systems cost as much as the ones in use. But each organisation storing customer data must have backups under Data Protection law. That means each of the affected banks have to have backups of their systems and their data. To lose access to both, for several several banks is a sign of a serious issue. What's worse is that it is unlikely that we we have the resources to thoroughly investigate the incident. And whilst we are in national security psrtnerships, certain events have made access to that data more difficult. But, we'll find out what happened eventually.
