  1. ​ @dr3armer It's not actually. Finding ideas for videos is work, writing scripts is work. And editing and sound designs is work. And YouTube is like Uber for content - you're not really your own boss, because if you didn't keep cranking out those videos, you get punished, and the algorithm stops promoting you. But you carry all the risks and burdens. Burnout is the final reward if you're not careful.

  2. ​ @HaimRich94 Will you? Acceptance encourages long-term, realistic thinking, and not just the hustle to try and get ahead. And what you call success, well that's your definition. Like your shoe size, one size doesn't fit all.

  3. ​ @TheDiamondNet Are you living a more easeful life? I doubt it. If you become ill and can't work, your worries are not over are they? And you have to pay accountants and lawyers, designers, and hosting services. Yes, you are earning more, but you are also paying more for that privilege. And AI will destroy your business in the future. Rat on a wheel.

  4. ​ @andresa6049 Not really. Stoicism is an ancient philosophy built on this these two eternal truths, and that produced the golden age in Roman civilisation. It was the over-optimists that destroyed it. Work to live, not live to work is good advice, because the modern preoccupation with material wealth has led to not only the enshuttification of the economy, but of the planet we rely on to survive, for gains that aren't sustainable. So materially, we're all going to be poorer paying for that damage, and we are enslaved by debt, corporations and devices. So... In a rigged game that you can't control, the pursuit of excellence should be directed toward what sustains you beyond the material. Neglect that, and not only will you have to pay for costly divorces, and family estrangement, simply because you're not around to maintain meaningful relationships with anything but work. And you'll attract people who just like you for your money. Good luck with that.
