Not true. We haven't really recovered from the pandemic recession, which in turn was amplified by the fact that banks everywhere can't wean themselves off being subsidised by government. And that mean real problems in the real economy and not the speculative economy in which the Stock Market resides. If you're only interested in the stock market you may be blind to what's happening outside it. And the US economy is too dependent on the speculative economy. And the politicians and central bankers are addicts too. Accordingly, the stock market is the last market to react to real world problems. And central bankers pay too much attention to it, and won't admit they can only clean up after the Elephant in the Room, and not ride it anywhere. Jeff is talking about the elephant in the room, and not the sideshow of the stock market where the whales keep taking the retail minnows money.
