  1. Jeff, thanks for putting links to the sources in the description. Through those I found another paper by George F. DeMartino, entitled "Reconstructing Globalization in an Illiberal Era" which is a book review of books written by two critics of the Economics profession complicity in the failure of the Neoliberal project - Joseph Stiglitz and Dani Rodrik. And that's what what our politicians and mainstream economists are fudging and gaslighting the public about. When you said that the Jay Powell and the Fed were janitors cleaning up after the messes caused by financial markets that could never regulate themselves against human frailities, you were right. You also implied that this was a bigger cleanup operation, but avoided the political dimension of the operation. It's a Wizard of Oz operation, that is running out of distractions to avoid admitting their failures and limitations. But, until those are accepted and admitted to, the necessary changes needed to repair the damage done won't happen, and things will only get worse economically and politically. And it will only weaken us more. Read DiMartino's book review. It suggests a way ahead out of this failed vanity project.
